Modules
Composed molecules — cards, prose, accordions, forms. Each carries its own combo (usually .combination-paper) so it sits correctly on any band, light or dark mode. Built for the real page inventory on piercelaw.com: practice-area articles, the team grid, locations, contact, reviews, and the blog.
Feature card & numbered card
Benefit grids on light bands use marketing-feature (gold keyline grows on hover); add marketing-feature--lg for the larger editorial variant (bigger icon + type, more air — used on the team page intro). Dark bands use marketing-numcard inside a joined grid.

How much does an estate plan cost?
Do I need a trust, or is a will enough?
How long does probate take in North Carolina?
Planning for every facet of your life
A complete estate plan addresses more than what happens after death — it protects you and your family through every season, including periods of incapacity. Lifetime planning deserves the same care as legacy planning.
What documents make a successful estate plan?
Most families are well-served by a core set of documents, tailored to their circumstances:
- A will that names guardians and directs your property
- A durable power of attorney for finances
- A health-care power of attorney and living will
The best plan is the one your family can actually use when the moment comes.
Every plan is personal. We take time to understand your goals before recommending a single document.
Prose rhythm & timeline
Editorial cues that break a wall of body copy into digestible beats. The CMS sectionizer applies marketing-lead (oversized opening sentence), marketing-subhead (a bold lead-in promoted to a small head) and marketing-keypoints (a bold-term list rendered as hairline-ruled rows) to scraped copy — all hand-usable too. A run of Phase N/Step N sections collapses into marketing-timeline.
Settling an estate is a sequence of decisions — most of them unfamiliar, and all of them on a deadline.
We map the whole process up front so nothing important is left to chance, and so you always know what comes next.
- Letters Testamentary: Issued when there is a valid will that names an executor.
- Letters of Administration: Granted when no will exists and the court appoints you.
- Certificate of Trust: Recognizes a successor trustee when a living trust is in place.
What if there is no will? The estate passes by North Carolina's intestacy statutes — a default plan the State has written, which may not match your family's wishes.
- Phase 1
Gather details
Collect the will, account statements, deeds, and recent tax returns — the foundation for everything that follows.
- Phase 2
Apply for probate
File with the Clerk of Superior Court to be recognized as the estate's legal representative.
- Phase 3
Qualify & administer
Inventory assets, notify creditors, and distribute what remains to the rightful heirs.
Sticky sub-nav
A horizontal section index for long article pages. It pins under the masthead and tracks the section under the reader (filled-gold active pill). Built from a page's own headings, so labels are kept short at the source — items never truncate. Wrap the bar in data-subnav; ds-marketing.js wires the edge-fade hints and scroll-spy. The host supplies smooth-scroll and a matching scroll-margin-top on targets.
Topic explorer & modal
Progressive disclosure for long articles: prose sections become scannable marketing-topiccards in a marketing-explorer grid, each opening its full copy in a marketing-modal (native <dialog>). The card is an <article> with one trigger button whose stretched ::after makes the whole card clickable (valid markup — no heading nested in a button). Content is SSR'd inside the dialog, so it stays crawlable. ds-marketing.js opens/closes on data-modal-open / data-modal-close; <dialog> handles focus-trap + Esc.
Collapsible stepper
The marketing-timeline spine reads as a scannable stepper — each step (marketing-timeline__step, a native <details>) shows just its title and expands inline to the full copy. No JS, content stays in the DOM.

Intake form, contact rows, logos & framed media
The gold-crowned intake card (skin only — the lead pipeline's fields and submit logic never change), contact rows for footers and sidebars, the grayscale-to-color logo strip, and hairline-framed imagery.
