The print design system

How Pierce Law Group shows up on paper, vinyl, and board: stationery, collateral, and event display. It uses the Brand system's logo, type, palette, and gold lozenge, and adds what the screen never needs: trim, bleed, safe areas, stock, and ink.

The emphasis scale

Every print family ships three templates on the same grid. Choose the step that fits the setting. A letter to a grieving client is Minimal, a seminar handout is Accent, and a booth in a busy exhibit hall is Bold. Don't mix steps inside one piece. A set, such as a card and its matching letterhead, may use different steps.

Principles

Ink

Proposed print builds for the brand palette. These values are a starting point, not verified matches: request a hard proof on the chosen stock before the first run, and record any press-corrected builds here.

Total ink. Keep navy floods at or below 300% total area coverage. Never set small navy type in rich black: use a single navy build so registration can't blur it.

Formats

Every template page sizes its previews from this one table (src/lib/print-templates.ts). Bleed extends past the trim line. Keep live type and logos inside the safe area.

Updating content

Every word, name, and photo choice in these templates comes from one file, src/lib/print-content.json. Change it once and every Minimal, Accent, and Bold template updates. Agents edit it through the TimDS MCP server (npm run timds -- mcp) with read_file and write_file, then confirm with run_check.

Rules for edits. Headlines are split into headline and accent; the accent renders in gold italic. Templates name photos by key from photos; an unknown key fails the build. Logos are not configurable: every template uses the full Pierce Law Group lockup.
